The ADDIE Instructional Design Model
What I learned from viewing the videos on the
ADDIE Model is that in everything we do there must be a systematic approach to
accomplish our desired outcome.
According to Friesen (1973, p.1), instructional
materials can be designed and created in two ways. The first way requires a
master teacher, working alone to create an inspired work of art. The second
requires the application of a system of logic in order accomplish specified
learning objective.
Like Friesen, I believe that in order to truly accomplish our goals as instructional designers, we must seek to develop a highly functional "system of logic to complete our learning objectives.
Presently, I am working as an Organizational
Development Specialist for the Texas State Teacher Association. I am
responsible for training, and development for each assigned ISD. During this
class, I will use the information to design training lessons using the ADDIE
Model.
I am not able to compare the ADDIE model to
other Instructional models because in my field, we only use the first phase of
the ADDIE Model, which is the analysis stage – developing objectives and goals.
