ACTION PLAN

Marita Palmer
EMDT Certificate Action Plan for Certificate Student Capstone (CSC) Project
October 2011

Goal/End Product: Identify the media-based product or technology-based solution you will create during the next three months.
During the next three months as a EMDT certificate student, I will use myUdutu to create SCORM/AICC - compliant online e-learning courses for TSTA field staff and TSTA/NEA local staff. These courses will provide a place for learners to log-in and complete required courses while in the field or in their home office.
Target Audience:  Who will be viewing or using your product? How will this effect your decisions?
Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA). Material provided will be only for  those who are associated with TSTA. Therefore, my course design will reflect my learners.
Experts or test group:  Identify who your expert reviewers or test group will be.
Test group will be TSTA field staff and associates between the age of 29-59 with limited knowledge of myUdutu course tools.
Purpose:  What is the overall goal of your project?
To provide a tool where learning can take place at any time or place through a  computer with Internet, or wi-fi access.
Objectives: Your objectives must be measurable.  Use Bloom’s Taxonomy to help establish behavioral objectives.
In order for me to complete this project, I shall:
  • Design an interactive time - line so that event are in chronological order
  • Recall the website myUdutu in order to subscribe to course
  • Study myUdutu’s learning tutorials in order to gain knowledge on how to implement course material
  • Develop myUdutu course,
  • Upload learning materials to myUdutu
  • Evaluate course designed to make sure it is in SCORM/AICC compliant
  • Research other we-base contend development tools to see if I need to update

Materials and Resources:  Determine what you will need to reach your goals.  This list may need revisions as you move through each month.

Procedure and Timeline:  What are the steps needed to accomplish your goals and what are the deadlines you must set for yourself? Choose a collaborative tool to create and share your milestones and timeline.  You will post a link on your blog.
After viewing all of the time management tools, I chose Thyme Project Management and Task Planning because it was simple and easy to use. I have provided the website for your viewing. http://www.go2web20.net/site/?a=Thymer
Resources:  Please keep a running list of the resources you gather and use through the process.

Month 1 - ETC
  • Create Action Plan
  • Identify goals, objectives, and end product - what do you want to accomplish with this certificate?

  • Begin CSC Project
Month 2 - DAE
  • Incorporating solid instructional design methods and learning theory into your media-based project or technology-based solution.

Month 4 - GSM
  • Implement your media-based project or technology-based solution with your target audience test group.
  • Create a video - 4-5 minutes in length - to present your CSC project.

Evaluation:  Recruit experts in the field to review, interact with, or use your product and provide you with feedback for revisions or improvements.  Develop the procedure for this process.
Reflection:  Create a product (your choice) to reflect on the entire process.  Ask yourself:
What did you learn in terms of content and skills?
What would you do differently if you could start at the beginning and repeat the process?
Where will this take you in the future
